Fine Food and Ale Abound In Regina
- April 26, 2016

Oh boy, have we got some fun and delicious things to do in Regina in the next few weeks! From traditional celebrations that give a whole new meaning to “Thank Goodness It’s Friday” to waking up your taste buds with gorgeous wines and dishes, it’s all happening right here in Regina:
First Firken Friday: May 6
If you’re in Regina the first Friday of the month, you have GOT to experience First Firken Friday at the local Bushwakker Pub. To fill you in on this time-honoured ceremony, the evening goes down a little something like this: A fresh ale is paraded through the pub lead by a piper; a volunteer (this could be you!) is randomly chosen to drive a tap into the firkin with a handmade wooden maul loving called “The Firkin Wakker,” and then the tapper and any spectators within in 20-foot radius are soaked with squirting beer. Fun, right? It all starts May 6 at 5:30 p.m. Be. There.
The Taste of Spring: May 6 & 7
Stimulate your taste buds with a few sips and samples of the world’s best wine, spirits and culinary creations with the Taste of Spring food festival in Regina. A live soundtrack of the event is provided by The Bureau. If you’re a fan of the Food Network, you’ll be pretty excited to hear that Eat St.’s James Cunningham will be Saturday’s special appearance guest. Here are the details: The event is on Friday and Saturday May 6 and 7 at Credit Union EventPlex, Evraz Place from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tickets are $40 each, and you must be 19 years or older to enter. Buy your tickets in advance here.
If you’re in town for these or any other great events around, make sure you check in with us at the Days Inn Regina Airport hotel, featuring complimentary hot breakfast, an indoor pool with a water slide and hot tub, and free Wi-Fi for all!
